The Schoenhut School of the Arts is open after many months of delays.
The school is for Schoenhut pupils only, although the teachers are rather varied and shall we say 'interesting' but draw upon their combined experience and interests.
Today is teacher only day and they are busy making sure their classrooms are ready for the new pupils to start tomorrow.
Miss Olivia Ottava the music teacher has been busy checking the instruments.
There are a large selection of instruments available for the students...
Violin, guitar, 'cello, flute, saxophone and piano. She is currently on the hunt for some recorders as she would like to start a recorder ensemble later on in the term.
Making sure the violin has all its strings and bow.
Miss Olivia Ottava has also been busy interviewing teachers.
Maestro Viktor Cavallini is hoping to be musical director, eventually forming an orchestra and choir.
Miss Olivia Ottava and Maestro Viktor Cavallini discuss various musical ideas and hopes they have for the school. Fortunately he has similar ideas and aspirations for the students and the school as Miss Olivia Ottava.
Although Miss Olivia Ottava doesn't have anything to do with the other subjects, she did interview various teachers and is currently chatting to Miss Prim, Peggy Sue's former governess, who is going to be running the needlework and etiquette classes as well as organising any food needs the teachers and students may have.
Subjects have been planned and will be thematic and project based in order to maintain the interest of the student and to gain a wholesome perspective or how they are all interchangeable rather than a strict separation of subject matter as if one doesn't belong to the other. Following this idea the Schoenhut School of the Arts will have a syllabus that is based around the Changing Seasons with the first being Autumn.
This gives focus on observing the world around us, following the rhythms of nature and the changes that happen and how animals, plants and ourselves have adapted to these changes.
